The First Camp on Wheels

These past couple weeks have been busy.

We had the first “Camp on Wheels” day on February 10th. About 8 kids showed up for this first time, and it was a blast. The one-day “camp” is kind of like a one-day vacation Bible school. We provide the location and contact the families, and a group called DPB House provides the program and volunteers (they’re a great group and made for fast friends).

The goal for Camp on Wheels is to broaden the contact we have with our Champs Camp kids and make it more consistent than only a couple weeks a year. The plan is to have a Camp on Wheels once a month, leading up to the main summer camps. We’re hoping to build deeper relationships with the kids through more frequent contact, and so far, that’s been a success. The kids shared stories about troubles they were having in school (with bullies and other kids telling them bad words) and about what they would do if they were Queen or King for a day (we were learning about Esther).

We also moved into our new apartment. You can see a video walk-through on our Facebook page if you want. It’s a small but cozy place where we hope to host many people (though we might have to squeeze if we host them all at once). A home is a powerful tool for the Kingdom, especially in a culture where deep relationships are so important, so we’re glad to have one.

Our upcoming events of note include a daddy-daughter day for believers and non-believers alike and the start of our Croatian language schooling.

Please continue to pray for us and the mission work here. Pray for wisdom and love for us as we seek for ways to reach the youth here. Pray for the Church and all those we’re working with.

(PS Make sure to keep watch on our Facebook page as we will be posting pictures and short updates there, that you may not find here)
