Winter Activities, Bible Studies, and Worship Events

January 2020 has been a good start for us.

The month began with Winter Champs Camp at the church building and a teen training weekend in the nearby village of Samobor.

Those events had an extra challenge to them this year. Because of all the teacher strikes last fall, the kids and teens lost around a week of winter vacation time. That week of lost time is usually when we hold the Winter Champs Camp, so we spent more effort on scheduling and registration than we normally do.

Even so, we had a great turnout for the training weekend and a pretty good one for the camp. At the training weekend, we planned, played team-building games, and just spent the day together as a team.

The camp had all of the usual fun: a bible story led by Savannah, snacks, lunch, games, crafts, and songs.

After the camp ended, we walked around the city with some of the teens since all the Christmas decorations were still up.

We've also been meeting with the teens more often for bible studies and pizza, and even had a worship night. It's not an easy thing for them to do since they live all over the city and have different school schedules, but it's great to see them together.

Another event we're excited about is that we have started studying the Bible with a group of three women who had participated in Let's Start Talking. We've met twice already, and we'll meet again tonight to continue discussing the Sermon on the Mount. They truly enjoy our meetings together, love discussing our faith, and each week we see them growing not only in their language skills, but in spirit. God truly brought this group together and we are already so thankful for the opportunity to grow and learn alongside these ladies.

In news on upcoming events, we'll be starting "paint with me" classes for our Champs Camp kids on Saturday. I'll lead the kids through a painting "Bob Ross style" and then we'll have snacks while Savannah does a fun object lesson from the Bible for them to watch and think on during the week. The goal is, as always, to enrich these kids lives and introduce them to Jesus.

We also can't forget that there is less than a month left until we visit the U.S.!

Please pray for all of the ministries here, our visa registration for our third year, and our travel to the U.S.. We love you all and are looking forward to seeing you in March!
